What do you want students to take away from your classes? What do you want them to learn?
I want each student to have a gained a greater insight into who they are as an educator and to be more equipped to meet the needs of the learners in their classrooms.
-
What advice would you give to prospective students considering this program?
You can do this. The very fact that you are pursuing this information means that something within is calling you to do more. You may have doubt, questions, and maybe even some fears, but none of them will keep you from experiencing success. This program is what you need to fulfill the next level of your destiny.
-
Why did you start teaching?
If I am completely honest, teaching was an "accident" for me. I did not intend to make teaching a profession. However, once in the classroom it became very clear that this was no accident. I had found my purpose to serve in the field of education. Serving as a teacher and an education leader have afforded me the opportunity to use skills that I never realized I possessed and to touch lives that I never even dreamed of helping. I am a better person because I was chosen to be a teacher.
-
What qualities make someone particularly successful in the profession in which you teach?
Someone with the tenacity and drive to succeed will find great benefit from any of our programs and in their chosen profession. An educator and education leader must be able to endure challenges that will come from various sources and "teach anyway." Someone who is driven by purpose will always find success.
-
What is the one book you think everyone should read?
The Bible.
